Memories of Rosyth

When I think about Rosyth, some of my best memories were spent at the little "garden" area where the main gate/ pick-up and drop-off were. I recall there were just a couple of big old trees which provided sufficient shade for us little kids. No fancy iPads, no colourful playground, no toys, but those trees were more than sufficient. It gave us lots of room for imagination. I remember climbing trees, playing catching and even make-believe cooking with the ferns and leaves that dropped to the ground. Fun times.

I also recall those days when we had full sessions, which meant we ate lunch and napped in school. The metal trolleys of food would get parked outside our classrooms near lunch time. Smell of food would waft through the windows and before long, we would be holding plastic trays and lining up to scoop up food for lunch. After lunch, we would have a short nap by laying our heads on our tables.

Teachers in the past had it tough. I recall our Science teacher writing lots of lots of notes across the blackboard. Only to have it erased when she covered all of the blackboard with her notes and have to find space for new notes. She was sweating by the time she finished the lessons. I also remember us having to fiddle around with these finicky OHP projectors; moving them back and forth just to find the right angle. I always recall fondly these teachers' commitment to delivering the education syllabus.
