CHRISTOPHER TAN NGHEE HUAT

Impact on My Life

Rosyth was the place where I wrote my first computer programme. I remembered the 3rd floor IT room with its cool dark interior and fascinating Apple 2s desktops with flickering screens. We had our first computer lesson back in 1985 and were taught how to do basic programming. I still remember writing the code using the lines of "10 print hello... 50 End" and the like. Till the time I graduated at MIT 10 years later, using modern programming languages of C++ and Java, I treasure the early exposure of computer programming and learning the basics at Rosyth.
