ROSYTH 60th
ANNIVERSARY
YE YUYING
Impact on My Life
One day when I was in Pri 1, my Dad forgot to pick me up from school. I was left in school, lost and very afraid. Miss Ada Ponnappa was on her way home with a few teachers. She noticed me. She talked to me and the next thing I remembered was I sat on a teacher's legs and Miss Ponnappa drove me. I was outside my house but noone was home. She talked to my neighbor, and somehow contacted my dad to pick me up from the neighbor's home. All I could remember was me crying and staring at a glass of orange juice until my dad came. There was no handphone and I being a fresh Pri 1, probably didnt remember many numbers. I was glad someone picked me up and I did not have to stay alone in school. 1990 was also Miss Ponnappa's last year in Rosyth. I wrote her a note and wrapped some flowers for her. At the farewell ceremony I passed her the gift and gave her a kiss on her cheek. Til today, I still remember her smile and her soft fragile cheek I kissed.
